Arizona’s Tribal Casinos Contribute $42.5 Million to State Programs in FY2025 Q2
Tribal gaming continues to support key community initiatives in Arizona.
The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has reported that tribal casinos contributed $42.5 million to the Arizona Benefits Fund in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025. This figure represents 88% of total tribal gaming revenue during the period and is distributed to support various state-level programs.
The largest allocation, $21.2 million, went to the Instructional Improvement Fund to bolster education. The Trauma and Emergency Services Fund received $10.6 million, while $3.8 million was earmarked for ADG operational costs. Additionally, the Arizona Wildlife Conservation Fund and the Tourism Fund each received approximately $3 million.
ADG Director Jackie Johnson highlighted the significance of the partnership between the state and tribal communities:
“Strong collaboration between the state and Arizona’s tribal communities drives the positive growth of the tribal gaming industry. Since fiscal year 2004, tribal casinos have contributed over $2.3 billion, strengthening communities across Arizona.”
An additional $850,164 was allocated to programs for the treatment and prevention of gambling-related issues.
These contributions are mandated under the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, which requires tribes to share a portion of revenue from Class III gaming activities with local governments.
